Facebook has really made people connect with ease. There I came to know a really sweet girl in the person of Chrystelyn Hortilano. In those months when we exchange messages and check on our status, I come to see some spark in her gestures and before she said it, I have seen how she grew in love with a colleague in the island of Boracay, Philippines. When I connected my post to Facebook, she learned that I have made the poem Dawn of Happiness for Dawny and in her message narrating how things went through (not in detail of course..
) and how she started to feel like a princess at the moment, she came to ask me to draft a poem for her and here it goes:
You were once the person I never dreamt of loving;
Your past, to me, seem to be much of a hollow cavern;
But you are willing to fill it up by trying to learn;
So in you this unconditional love I’ll be investing.
I have known you as a playful man in the turf affection;
You get on with the rush of excitement without reflection;
But you got me as I got you, and in love we both pledged;
To change and be changed and grow in love’s shifty ledge;
You’ve told me how earnest your desire is to see a different you;
And I said “You can get past your past, that I can assure you.”
Yes, you only need to believe and view life at a perspective;
Where you learn to love someone in way that is not deceptive;
You exited somewhere in your past and there you found me;
It was a thrill at the outset but hesitation started to flow;
I’ve seen myself as a girl who initially get to shilly-shally;
But same vacillation stopped when you showed me the real you.
And yes I’ve known you now and have come to hold you dear;
Your smile seems to haunt me like it follows me everywhere;
I see how the ground breaks to let your love get to surface;
And now it is growing and God knows how I feel like a princess.

Feeling Like A Princess

Dawn Of Happiness
November 21, 2010I have written this poem upon request of a commenter on my post whose life, sadly, is in a complicated situation at the moment. Her name is Dawny so I just thought the title would be perfect for her. I hope you guys will come to like this and again I would love to hear your comments.
I have seen how misery slaps right on people’s face;
But have seen how they get up to hasten up their pace;
Some nevertheless love to continue dwelling in loneliness;
Rather than get up and dust off the dirt on their bodies.
I however see some light streaking from the blue skies;
Gleaming down on my window to let me know I must rise;
Light which will bring all the warmth that I now most need;
Than wait for someone’s touch waking me to get up from bed.
I appreciate how the sun breaks a smile for all of us;
It beckons hope for mankind and gives nature some lush;
And this is so with life – it stores happiness for all;
Let us just believe that it is dawning each time we fall.
Everyone dreamed about happiness to dawn on their life’s tour;
Forgetting that it can be chosen rather than to be waited for;
They should know that self acceptance lies at its very core;
Before the world starts to crowd us out and for us to go unsure.
Happiness dawns upon us just as each day come to pass us by;
We should then put it together than wait for it to come by;
We can control virtually every aspect of its existence;
We only need to constructively perceive as each thing happens.
While I now see myself groping in the dark breadth of the night;
I know I can get though this grey existence with just one fight;
I should rather not profess hate and must stand with finesse;
I must not be dissuaded for I now see the dawn of happiness.

Love to the Hundredth
November 20, 2010I have written this poem years ago as a gift for my then girlfriend ( and now my wife, fortunately
) on our 100 days (on the date when I posted this we are on our 2,202nd days :p) of being crazily in love with each other. I hope you will come to like this piece and if you don’t mind, please leave a comment at the bottom of this page.
-
Our Love only went through a hundred days:
You’ve loved me though in so many ways;
Love that turned the person I am today;
And built me up to my grande totality.
Days have passed and with beatitude they’re filled;
With boredom they all have never been chilled;
For as long as my love murmurs with the air;
Smiles are conveyed and life be filled with cheer.
-
Love enclosed between our fingers and palms;
we know it’ll be safe in there and be warm;
Hold me closer for I can’t be so near;
Until you could hear my heartbeats all so clear.
Ripples go as water would flow from a stream;
But please hold me when you’ll meet me in dream;
Let a day pass without being awaken;
A night or two shall we rejoice your dreamin’.
-
Whenever our souls take their humane breathe;
We’ll make this love for real and not just myth;
Loving both not just for a hundred days;
Far longer than forever is all that I’ve wished.
If I would be loved the way that you do;
I truly could live thousand years with you;
Nevertheless if I’m destined to die shortly;
In God I’ll plead life in eternity.
-
Hundred days of feeling sheer ecstasy;
Good reason to celebrate this very day;
However high-strung may the coming days be;
A memorable milestone has marked today.
